Farmers & Industry Proactively Prepares for Crisis Before it Happens
Dairy Professionals Come Together for PDPW Crisis Management Training Dec. 11 in Madison, Wis.

DAIRY NEWS – Having a comprehensive crisis plan personalized to your dairy business is key to business sustainability, brand protection, and vital to successfully overcoming an incident.  The Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW) Crisis Management Workshop, a part of PDPW’s Dairy’s Visible Voice® curriculum, is designed to proactively prepare dairy business owners, managers or other key thought leaders within the dairy industry for successful leadership and communication during crisis.

The Crisis Management Workshop will be presented December 11, 2018 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin Headquarters at 8418 Excelsior Dr., Madison, WI 53717.

Led by Judy Rupnow, Senior Counselor at MorganMyers, this Crisis Management training will equip dairy farmers and dairy business executives and managers with the business and management strategies needed to enhance a dairy business’ response and interaction with the community and media in time of crisis.  Judy will prepare farmers to:

  • Rank potential crises
  • Identify crisis response team
  • Proactively prepare for decisions and statements
  • Learn “what” and “how” information should be communicated during crisis
  • Access and practice key dairy messages on tough topics (animal welfare, rural labor, water quality, manure management, hormones, antibiotic use, etc.)

As MorganMyers’ go-to resource for strategic planning, research, member communications and leadership training, your trainer, Judy Rupnow, is well-versed in hands-on crises management.  Judy has been at the forefront of farmer-to-consumer trust-building communications initiatives for the Illinois Farm Families Coalition, Illinois Beef Association, and the Illinois Corn Marketing Board.

The Crisis Management Workshop is a part of the communications and leadership training curriculum, Dairy’s Visible Voice®, presented by PDPW.  Upcoming programs include Effective Leadership on Jan. 10 and Social Media Strategy on Feb. 7.

The Dairy’s Visible Voice curriculum is open to all those allied with the dairy industry and space is limited to the first 18 attendees.
