PDPW to Host Crisis Management Session
DAIRY NEWS – The Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW) is dedicated to assisting producers in developing the skill set to enrich their businesses. The latest of their program offerings, which will be offered Thursday, April 28 in Chilton, Wis., is the fifth training module of the Dairy Visible Voice® - Leadership Development through effective communication series.
Dairy Visible Voice® - Leadership Development is designed to enhance leadership skills in the dairy industry through improved communication. This particular module titled, “Preparing for a Crisis Before it Happens,” will focus on best practices to prepare for an on-farm crisis and is geared towards owners and key employees looking to engage with consumers and media.
Namely, this advanced hands-on workshop will equip dairy farmer owners and key leaders with the skills and confidence to work with the media and community when facing a farm crisis. As part of the training, dairy farmers will learn to dive into their farm’s personal crisis plan by identifying risk, developing a physical response plan, and prepare basic response materials like fact sheets, material locations and emergency response contacts. Attendees will review past crisis situations in order to create this plan and protect their farm.
The training will be held at Fox Valley Technical College in Chilton, Wis. from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required due to limited space for this training module.
Interested dairy farmers can learn more about this Dairy’s Visible Voice Module and register by visiting www.pdpw.org or contacting PDPW at 1-800-947-7379.
Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin is a dairy-producer founded organization that provides educational programs and services to fellow dairy producers. PDPW’s mission is “to share ideas, solutions, resources, and experiences that help dairy producers succeed.”
