Connect with industry experts, producers, and leaders Jan. 28 in Madison, Wis.
DAIRY NEWS – Around the world, decisions about sustainability and dairy production are being made with ambitious goals for emission reductions and other benchmarks set by retailers, food manufacturers and governments. Carbon Conference 3.0, presented by Professional Dairy Producers® (PDP), affords dairy producers and other dairy professionals to learn from experts in carbon market development, dairy processing, agricultural data and on-farm practices.
The conference will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the Sheraton Hotel in Madison, Wis., beginning at 9:30 a.m. and concluding at 4:30 p.m.
“The goal for the dairy industry is a 30% reduction in carbon footprint by 2030. We won’t be able to move the needle to meet that goal if only a couple of us work toward it,” said Mitch Breunig, dairy farmer and owner of Mystic Valley Dairy.
Attendees will glean insights into sustainability strategies, methane and emission reduction, and ways to implement monetizing practices while driving value. Conference discussions will also include:

- a panel of leading processors outlining specific programs they’re involved in, how they personally work with farmers, and the challenges their retail customers are facing. Hear from Hansel New, AVP of Sustainability Strategy and Programs at Dairy Farmers of America; Dr. Paul Rapnicki, DVM, veterinarian and director of Producer Services at Grande Cheese Company; and Jeff Montsma and Jacqueline Stroud, representing Agropur.
- on-farm perspectives as shared by John Goeser, director of Animal Nutrition, Research and Innovation at Rock River Laboratory, John Jacobs, dairy producer from Green Valley Dairy and Jenny Bockhahn, co-owner of Concord Agriculture Partners. The group will provide an on-farm perspective regarding the value of one’s data and putting it to work for their operation. In addition, Patrick Wood, founder of Ag Methane Advisors, will share insights on emerging projects and industry trends.
- an exploration into today’s evolving marketplace. Leaders with experience designing and implementing carbon-credit systems will share the ins and outs of Scope 3 data reporting and sustainability strategies, with a focus on how dairy producers can position themselves in the marketplace. Presenters will include Jenny Bockhahn and Kevin Ogorzalek, co-owners of Concord Agriculture Partners.
