Two-Day Program to Take Dairy Financial Strategies to the Next Level
PDP’s Business Management & Advanced Finance Workshop to be held Oct. 29-30
DAIRY NEWS – A two-day workshop accompanied by real-world applications of financial, human resources and business management skillsets will help dairy producers and business professionals take their financial and management acumen to the next level. The 2025 Business Management & Advanced Finance Workshop presented by Professional Dairy Producers® (PDP) is designed to give forward-thinking dairy businesses the skills and strategies to transform their operation into a professionally managed, high-performing enterprise.
The workshop will be held Wed., Oct. 29, and Thur., Oct. 30, at Compeer Financial in Sun Prairie, Wis., running from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 pm. on Wednesday and from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
“The Business Management & Advanced Finance Workshop is truly a capstone course that brings together key concepts and interactive case studies to challenge dairy producers and business professionals,” said David Trimner, Athens, Wis., dairy producer and PDP board member. “Experienced managers will appreciate the case studies and interactive discussions that help accelerate implementation of advanced practices. The course will also be valuable to less experienced managers looking to deepen their knowledge and build team expertise.”
Core topics in the course will include farm management proficiency, financial statements, cash flow budgeting, financial metrics and simulation, cost and managerial accounting, family business governance and growth management.
The course will be facilitated by Dick Wittman, a globally recognized expert in financial literacy, family business management and transition planning. Wittman brings a history of collaborating with PDP along with decades of experience and actionable insights to help participants build thriving, professionally managed farm businesses.
To ensure that participants get the most out of the course, each person will complete pre-class assignments designed to assess current application of the workshop principles. This preparation will enable everyone to more rapidly implement the strategies and tools.
PDP Business Management & Advanced Finance Workshop is accredited for up to 12.5 Dairy AdvanCE continuing education credits.
