DescriptionTake your calf knowledge to the next level at the PDPW Calf Care Connection® training. New in 2021: This workshop will be taught in English with simultaneous Spanish translation for calf care managers, calf feeders and team members. These workshops will be repeating in three locations on Oct. 26, 27, and 28, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in Oshkosh, Eau Claire and Fennimore, Wis., with registration starting at 9 a.m.
Growing healthy calves is essential for any dairy, and this workshop is designed to challenge even the most seasoned calf care managers, calf feeders and other team members. During the training, participants will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and learn tangible information that can be brought back to the farm to help calves get off to the best start possible.
General session topics will include a producer panel on record keeping, as well as how to effectively manage stress, and exploring compassion fatigue and how it can impact work and health. Breakout sessions include troubleshooting wet calf protocols with discussions on areas of opportunity for young calves. Attendees will also dive into practical pain management options and strategies to help avoid pain and stress. For more information, check out the attached flyer.
PDPW will follow the latest CDC guidelines. Ample supplies of masks and hand sanitizer will also be available.
