Description
Take your calf knowledge to the next level at the PDPW Calf Care Connection® training. This workshop will be repeating in three locations on Nov. 10, 11, and 12, 2020, from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm in Menomonie, Stratford, and Hilbert, WI with registration starting at 9 am.
Growing healthy calves is essential for any dairy, and this workshop is designed to challenge even the most seasoned calf care managers, calf feeders and other team members. During the training, participants will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and learn tangible information that can be brought back to the farm to help calves get off to the best start possible.
General session topics include a discussion on disease resurgence with special attention to Bovine Viral Diarrhea, and a producer panel on the lessons learned from two Wisconsin calf raisers.
Breakout sessions include milk management for consistent calf nutrition, and a calf necropsy with a hands-on lab clarifying proper injection and calf tubing techniques with a discussion about the implications when done incorrectly.
PDPW will follow the latest CDC guidelines, with adequate distancing offered. Ample supplies of masks and hand sanitizer will also be available.
For additional information, please call PDPW at 800-947-7379 or email at mail@pdpw.org. Follow along digitally in advance of and during the event by following @dairyPDPW on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
