In a one-day session designed for dairy owners, managers, nutritionists, crop consultants and agronomists, we'll look at who is driving all this and equip farmers with the tools to respond. These workshops will be repeated in two locations on July 28 and 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Sauk City and Pittsville, Wis.The program's topics include:
- an overview of sustainability descriptions and a deeper dive into the complexities of carbon and its technical jargon
- a look at what farmers' up-the-chain customers expect, and how farms can utilize this information to their advantage when adopting sustainable practices
- conversations witih fellow farmers to discover insights about lessons learned on carbon emissions and sequestration, and how analyzing their data empowers them to ask more questions and try new techniques
- an exploration of how the carbon models FARM-ES, Comet and the international Cool Farm Tool operate, and understanding the pros and cons of each
