Description

Water is everyone's business... make it your business to know what's really going on. Join the tour on Thursday, July 13 with the bus departing at 9:15 am from the Middleton Park and RIde.

All attendees will meet at the bus pick-up site for travel to tour locations. Travel time will feature discussions with water-quality experts, researchers and other participants. Get an up-close look at the technologies and current practices that help protect our water supply with three diverse locations.

Nine Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant
Catch a glimpse of how the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District’s Nine Springs Wastewater
Treatment Plant transforms wastewater from homes and businesses into clean water and renewable resources.

EnTech Solutions Middleton Digester
Cows do more than produce cheese. At this stop you’ll learn how bovine manure is processed into biogas and renewable natural gas (RNG) to serve as an important replacement for traditional transportation fuels.

Blue Star Dairy
The last stop of the day is where we’ll meet the cows who fuel the Middleton Digestor. You’ll learn how the cows eat, live and carry on with their daily activities while also providing milk to thousands of people.

This program is held in collaboration with Professional Dairy Producers®, Discovery Farms®, the Wisconsin Towns Association, the Wisconsin Counties Association and Pheasants Forever.
