Description

The PDPW Herdsperson Workshop is the place to be if you're a dairy owner, herd manager, nutritionist, veterinarian or a mid-manager making key herd-health and management decisions on a dairy. The workshop will be held Nov. 18 in Hartford, Wis. and again Nov. 19 in Waupaca, Wis. from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Learn from industry experts and fellow producers at the 2020 Herdsperson Workshop where we will take on some of the dairy industry's biggest challenges. Sessions and presenters include:

Optimize the transition cows - Dr. Neil Michael
Learn how to optimize the transition period for a cow and how this critical time can impact future productivity and reproduction.

Producer Panel: Manage your time - Jared Feltz and Jordan Matthews
This producer panel will discuss how to help team members grow while managing your time effectively.

Financials for the win - Jay Joy
Managing financial numbers is critical, but it's only part of the story. This session will dive into knowing the numbers across all segments of the farm and ensuring every member of the team knows the numbers. Keeping feed shrink to a minimum (for example) and carefully tracking feed inventory make a huge impact on the bottom line. When every employee is helping keep costs down, little things quickly add up to a big deal - whether the savings stem from managing basic farm supplies, the parlor, the calf barn, the shop, or something else.

Producer Panel: Let’s Talk Tech - Alex Neuenschwander, Jason Holshbach and Zoey Nelson
On this producer panel, learn about a variety of on-farm technologies and how they impact animal health and business economics.

PDPW will follow the latest CDC guidelines, with adequate distancing offered. Ample supplies of masks and hand sanitizer will also be available.
