Registration for PDPW Stride Youth Leadership Conference Open Through Sept. 18
Sat., Sep. 23 program at UW-Madison campus will introduce students to ag career fields, build leadership skills
DAIRY NEWS – Choosing a career or education path can be challenging for today’s high school students. A one-day conference hosted by Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW) on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison will give students a jumpstart by clarifying their talents and abilities and introducing them to career possibilities they might not have considered.
The 2023 Stride® Youth Leadership Conference is open to students ages 15 to 18 and will be held Saturday, September 23, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Stock Pavilion. The program will begin with registration at 9:00 am and conclude by 6:15 pm.
“There are a wide range of opportunities across agriculture that are a perfect fit for nearly every skill set. From law and environmental policy to communications, marketing, accounting and more, we need top talent in all areas to meet the needs of a growing world population in a sustainable way,” said John Haag, Dane, Wis., dairy producer and PDPW board president. “Stride is a fast-paced, engaging program for teens to learn about the countless opportunities for their future.”
The conference will feature hands-on labs led by experts and graduate students in food science, soil science and animal science as well as leadership discovery sessions led by Michael Hoffman, founder and owner of Igniting Performance, Inc. Hoffman will show students how to influence others, take initiative, identify traits of role models who have impacted them personally, and more clearly understand their own influence to impact their communities and world.
Registration must be received by Monday, Sept. 18, 2023. This program is made possible in part by Professional Dairy Producers Foundation and WE Energies Foundation.
To learn more and to register, visit www.PDPW.org or contact PDPW at 800-947-7379. Follow along digitally in advance of and during the event by following @dairyPDPW on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
