June 19 Blood Drive at PDP Headquarters in Juneau, Wis., also commemorates June Dairy Month
DAIRY NEWS – Each June, dairy farmers across the US open the doors to their farms by hosting events that celebrate June Dairy Month. On Weds., June 19, Professional Dairy Producers (PDP) will host a community blood drive at its Juneau, Wis., headquarters to accept blood donations and share dairy products and other refreshments with the community.
Coordinated by the American Red Cross, the blood drive will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, at 820 N. Main Street in Juneau.
In honor of June Dairy Month and PDP’s membership base of dairy professionals, PDP will offer milk and cookies, grilled cheese sandwiches, yogurt, ice cream and more.
“We are entering a very busy season of the year and Professional Dairy Producers understands the importance of slowing down to take care of one another,” said Shelly Mayer, executive director of PDP and dairy farmer from Slinger, Wis. “Hosting this blood drive is a way our team can serve the broader community; and we’re thrilled to open our doors during June dairy month to honor our members and the dairy industry.”
Professional Dairy Producers (PDP) represents dairy producers and other dairy professionals from more than 2,000 dairy farms across 36 states. The nation's largest dairy producer-led organization of its kind, it focuses on producer professionalism, stakeholder engagement and unified outreach to share ideas, solutions, resources and experiences that help dairy producers succeed.
