“Voice of the Green Bay Packers” Wayne Larrivee part of PDPW Dairy Fest Line-up
Dairy Fest to offer educational resources, networking, entertainment
DAIRY NEWS – “Voice of the Green Bay Packers” Wayne Larrivee will give a glimpse of what the upcoming football season might look like when he addresses the crowd at the first-ever Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW) Dairy Fest™, Wednesday, August 12, and Wednesday, August 19.
Larrivee grew up as a Packers’ fan in the 1960s in Lee, Massachusetts, hoping someday to announce the games. Larrivee’s childhood dream came true as the Packers came calling when Jim Irwin retired after a 30-year broadcasting career.
Broadcasting on WTMJ-AM’s (620) Packer Radio Network in Milwaukee, Wis., Larrivee has established himself as one of the best announcers in the NFL, spending the last 21 seasons calling Green Bay Packer games alongside fellow WBA Hall of Famer and former Packers center Larry McCarren.
Dairy Fest is open to anyone looking to learn, laugh and network – from farmers, community members to those in the allied industry. Those attending will also have the opportunity to visit with premier dairy suppliers and PDPW sponsors throughout the evening.
The event kicks off at 4:30 p.m. with registration, followed by a Risk Management Panel featuring Tim Swenson, Senior Business Consultant at Compeer Financial and Carl Babler, Principal, Atten Babler Commodities. Facilitating the panel is Jim Moriarty, Director of Dairy at Compeer Financial. Attendees will also hear from farmer-comedian Royal Boehlke.
Hosting Aug. 12 will be Marti Farms - Travis and Melissa Marti and family, 6603 Grant Road, Vesper, Wis. and Aug. 19, Vision-Aire Farms, LLC – Roger and Sandy Grade, Travis and Janet Clark and David and Torrie Grade, W8676 State Road 23, Eldorado, Wis.
During the Dairy Fest event, our first priority is your safety. A large tent will be set up on each farm with ample room for social distancing. Food trucks will be on site, and PDPW will provide bottled milk and water. PDPW will also have masks available and plenty of hand sanitizer located throughout the event.
Cost is $20 per person, which includes a meal and ice cream. To register on line, visit: https://pdpw.org/programs/Dairy-Fest/details or call PDPW at 800-947-7379.
“Dairy Fest fits PDPW’s mission of sharing ideas, solutions, resources and experiences that help dairy producers succeed. This event will give you the opportunity to not only learn more about what risk management tools are available to fine-tune your business, but also allow you to reconnect, refresh and laugh together,” said Janet Clark, host of the August 19 event and vice president of the PDPW Board of Directors.
PDPW continues to provide programming through resources like the new Dairy Signal, ACE events, Dairy’s Bottom Line, Managers Memo, leadership trainings, youth programming, industry action work and other educational programs such as Financial Literacy for Dairy™.
Professional Dairy Producers (PDPW) is the nation's largest dairy producer-led organization of its kind, focusing on producer professionalism, stakeholder engagement and unified outreach to share ideas, solutions, resources, and experiences that help dairy producers succeed.
