Dairy Teams: Sharpen Coaching, Management Skills
Limited seats remaining for Dec. 16-17 PDP Dairy Managers Institute
DAIRY NEWS – As dairy farms balance the management of people, animals and finances amid constantly shifting business environments, strong coaching and leadership skills are as critical as ever. Dairy Managers Institute®, presented by Professional Dairy Producers® (PDP), delivers the communication, coaching and financial tools managers need to strengthen teams and improve on-farm results.
The two-day program will be held Dec. 16-17, 2025, at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay, Wis., with all sessions simultaneously translated into Spanish. Tier One of the three-tier program has filled, so attendees can now select Tier Two or Tier Three.
Concepts taught to attendees will include:
Tier Two: “Master the Art of Coaching” will be facilitated by Michael Hoffman, a nationally recognized performance and leadership trainer known for his high-energy, action-oriented coaching. The program will focus on improving listening skills and engaging team members, delivering meaningful feedback, preparing for important conversations and more.
Tier Three: “Nail the Financials and Negotiations” is led by UW–Platteville’s Dr. Kevin Bernhardt and negotiation expert Linda Swindling. Participants will learn to interpret financial signals, manage volatility and negotiate effectively to strengthen business outcomes.
“I loved the mix of hands-on learning, open discussion, and connecting with other dairy professionals who share the same goals and challenges,” said Meghan Magley of Strutz Farm Inc, Two Rivers, Wisconsin. “The instructor was very knowledgeable and down-to-earth, which made the sessions both educational and fun.”
Dairy professionals are encouraged to register their teams today. Registration fee includes materials and meals during sessions. For more details and lodging information visit www.pdpw.org or contact PDP at 800-947-7379. Each tier of Dairy Managers Institute is accredited for up to 14 Dairy AdvanCE continuing education credits.
