Summer is Moving Quickly, Register Ag Interns Today for PDP Accelerate
July 28 workshop enhances internship program, builds skills for future careers
 
DAIRY NEWS – As calendars turn to July and summer hits the midway point, so do the internship programs of many college students.  Agricultural employers can help interns finish their summer experience strong and build skills for their future careers at the PDP Accelerate™ workshop presented by Professional Dairy Producers® (PDP). The one-day program facilitated by Michael Hoffman, founder and owner of Igniting Performance, Inc., targets the seven skill gaps that hiring managers and agriculture professionals consistently identify that get candidates screened in and fast-tracked to a job offer.
 
Scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Madison East in Madison, Wis., Accelerate provides a fast-paced, interactive opportunity for interns to strengthen communications and leadership skills while networking with other students and industry professionals. 
 
“PDP Accelerate has been an incredibly valuable experience for the interns that Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin has worked with,” said Tina Peterson, Director – Wisconsin Communications, Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin. “From a team perspective, interns return with a stronger sense of professionalism and self-awareness. They’re also more comfortable initiating conversations, contributing ideas and collaborating across teams.”
 
Designed for students across the agricultural industry, the program focuses on helping interns develop a professional presence, connect with others through communications skills and gives students an advantage as they prepare to enter the workforce after completing their education.
