Nohl Earns Ag in the Classroom Grant FundingWisconsin Ag Connection - May 16, 2018
Wisconsin Farm Bureau's Ag in the Classroom program has awarded Nicole Nohl with a $500 volunteer grant to attend the National Ag in the Classroom Conference. The funds will come from the WFBF's Jeanette Poulson Fund.
The conference will be held in Portland, Maine at the end of June. More than 400 teachers, volunteers and agricultural literacy staff are expected to attend.
Nohl is an independent contractor for Brown County Dairy Promotions where she helps organize classroom visits to the greater Green Bay area and works on various dairy-related activities for the county. Their program conducts the Ag in the Classroom-hosted essay contest, promotes Farm Bureau's book of the year, partners with FFA chapters for a Pizza Plunge field trip and works with other groups and organizations in the area. She also helped organize the 2017 Alice in Dairyland finals hosted by Brown County.
The Ag in the Classroom program provides teachers and students K-12 with an understanding of how their food is produced.
