“Rural Labor in the Trump Era” Sessions for Dairy Farmers Set for July 18 and 19
PDPW Lunch n’ Learn Series to Launch with Training on Immigration Rules and Policies

DAIRY NEWS – Potential changes in immigration rules and enforcement policies could have a significant impact on employers who rely on immigrant labor for a portion of their employee force, including Wisconsin’s dairy farmers. The new PDPW Lunch n’ Learn series from Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW) will kick off with sessions designed to provide a focused review of the proposed policy changes and potential impacts.

Erich Straub, experienced immigration attorney, will present the first session in the Lunch n’ Learn series “Rural Labor in the Trump Era.”  This session will help dairy farmers better understand what is rhetoric, what is reality, and outline the risks for those who rely on immigrant labor.

The meeting locations, repeating in two locations from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., include:
  • Tuesday, July 18, at Dana’s Grill and Bar, 6506 Texaco Dr., Eau Claire, Wis.
  • Wednesday, July 19, at 7 Angels, 128 Chestnut St., Chilton, Wis.

“We are excited to launch the PDPW Lunch n’ Learn series with a timely and critical topic for Wisconsin’s dairy farmers and economy,” said Marty Hallock, president of the PDPW board and dairy farmer from Mondovi, Wis. “These sessions are created for farmers to look at topics that most important to managing our farms in today’s fast-changing industry.”

Space is limited and registration includes lunch. To learn more about the PDPW Lunch n’ Learn series or this specific session and to register, visit www.pdpw.org or 1-800-947-7379.
