PDPW and UW Extension Collaborate on Upcoming Dairy Signal Episode
DAIRY NEWS – Working together is critical to long-term success in the dairy industry, a fact that has led to the founding of many education-centric organization, including the Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW) and the UW-Extension network.
In the interest of continuing to bring current information and practical management strategies to dairy producers, Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW) will feature Leonard Polzin, Dairy Markets and Policy Outreach Specialist, UW-Extension, in a June 27 episode of PDPW’s The Dairy Signal®.
Developed in April 2020 by dairy farmers and members of the Professional Dairy Producers Board of Directors, The Dairy Signal is a three-time-a-week series of educational episodes offering practical insights and resources for dairy farmers and food-system professionals across the value chain.
“PDPW is excited to work with the UW Extension team to provide dairy producers with the information they need to be successful,” said Shelly Mayer, Slinger, Wis., dairy producer and PDPW Executive Director. “We appreciate the UW Extension team recognizing The Dairy Signal as a useful tool.” UW- Madison, Division of Extension, Manitowoc County Dairy Educator, Angie Ulness added, “The UW Extension is excited to collaborate with PDPW to bring Leonard Polzin’s expertise to the dairy producers of Wisconsin and the country.”
In Polzin’s 60-minute episode, he’ll share his working knowledge of economic and market factors such as U.S. and global cow numbers, domestic demand, the necessary changes to improve dairy prices and drought conditions. Those tuning in between 12:00-1:00 PM CT will have an opportunity to ask questions prompted by the conversation. The recorded session will be available shortly after the episode is aired. Access to all previously broadcasted sessions are available at www.pdpw.org.
